Pembina
Pembina is a city in the Red River Valley of North Dakota. It borders Emerson, Manitoba in Canada.

[edit]Until 1823 the governments of both Canada and the United States assumed that Pembina was in Canadian territory; the survey of the 49th parallel that year revealed it to be in the United States. It is a major port of entry for traffic coming from Winnipeg into the United States.

Permanent exhibits covering the local indigenous peoples, the fur trade, frontier military forts, the U.S./Canadian border survey, and modern agriculture. Also features an observation deck with a 360 degree view of the Red River Valley. Museum admission free, observation tower $2 adults, $0.50 children 13-18, free for children 12 and under.
