There is more than one place called Big Bend:

  • The Big Bend of the Columbia River in Glacier National Park. Until 1962 the Trans-Canada Highway followed the river, and the road (mostly gravel) is still there, but now the highway cuts across the base of the Bend via the Rogers Pass.
